Fear is one of the most powerful emotions that we feel. Not only is it powerful, but it is also actually helpful sometimes. Quite often, fear will keep us safe by helping us avoid danger. 

The problem happens when we let fear control our lives too much. 
Being fearful of actual danger is one thing but being afraid of things that can’t hurt us like …failure, public speaking, asking for what you want, …is an entirely different beast.
